In our efforts to continually improve the safety standards of our men at sea Open University Libar in co-operation with AdriaMare Maritime Training Center is organizing and announcing

The 1st Adriatic Diving Conference

under the auspices of the Ministry of the Sea, Tourism, Transport and Development of the Republic of Croatia and the Croatian Divers Association.

The theme of the conference will be:

Improvement of safety and responsibility in diving

The conference will be convened in Hotel Punta****, Vodice, Croatia on November 8th and 9th, 2007. Croatia has the long diving history, we are therefore proud to host this event. We have worked tirelessly to ensure our international visitors will experience Croatia and its heritage in the best possible light. We would be very pleased to have your crew attending this special event.

Advertising in the Conference Journal

There will be 1,000 copies of the Conference Journal printed. Along with the expert scientific and technical papers the Conference Journal will consist of commercial adds and advertising to promote your product &/or service.

Conference Journal will be distributed to business partners of the maritime industry worldwide. Advertisement must be completely made in TIFF, EPS or AI form, and can be forwarded to organizer by CD-ROM-u or by e-mail.

Exhibiting stands in the atrium to Conference Hall

Exhibitors will be reserved a stand where they can distribute brochures, informations and demonstrate their products to visitors. The exhibition area will be open during conference hours. All exhibitors are obligated to take care for their stands. The organizer is not responsible for any disappearance or damage of exhibit. Exhibitors are not allowed to hire their stands to another person without organizers permission.

AdriaMare

Maritime training centre AdriaMare has been providing world class maritime and nautical training since 1989. We offer training in the areas of Basic Safety, Fire Fighting, Sea Survival, Tanker Operations, First Aid and Medical, Health and Safety, Radio Communications, Simulation, Navigation and Radar.

As a confirmation of our ongoing commitment to quality training, AdriaMare became the first maritime training centre in Croatia to obtain ISO-9002 accreditation with DNV in May 1998 and currently holds ISO-9001:2000 accreditation.

Constantly striving to meet and improve upon the industry’s training needs we recently became a branch office of «The Nautical Institute» and a full member of the «International Association for Safety and Survival Training»

POU Libar

Public Open University Libar provides world class maritime and nautical training and has 35 secondary school programs verified by Ministry of science, education and sports and more than 40 other courses in different fields.

POU Libar participated in the organisation of the 7th International Conference for Safety and Survival at Sea which was convened on the 9th and 10th of October 2006, in Sibenik, Croatia. It was hosted and organised by Maritime Training Center AdriaMare Consulto from Sibenik, Croatia and the IASST (International Association For Safety and Survival Training).

Hotel Info

Hotel Punta

The hotel complex Punta is situated in a pine forest on the peninsula bearing the same name and is only 100 meters from the beach. The complex is an entity of its own, only a ten minute walk from the centre of town, though life here is as full as in the centre . The crystal clear sea, with its pebble beach, is protected from the open sea by several islands. A sandy beach is located only one hundred meters away, and is perfect for children and non-swimmers.

Main building of Hotel Punta (A) **** was completely renovated in 1998. The modern rooms and apartments are equipped with satellite TV, telephone, mini bar, safe, hair dryer and a balcony with sea view. The hotel can accommodate 270 guests in the 129 hotel rooms and 3 hotel suites. The entire hotel is equipped with air conditioning. Hotel parking is under surveillance 24 hours a day. The hotel is open during the whole year.

The nearby annexes Arausa, Arausana and Antonina (B, C, D) are also part of the hotel complex Punta, alongside the hotel itself.

The annexes are situated in the direct vicinity of the hotel, spread out on the peninsula at equal distances from the hotel, and can accommodate 360 guests. Each annex is comprised of 60 rooms, most of which are double occupancy with the possibility of adding a cot. In renovated annexes (B, C, D) from 2006. each room is equipped with full bathroom, telephone, satellite TV, mini bar, safe, hair dryer and balcony with sea view. The annexes are some 20 meters away from the beach and 50 meters from the hotel restaurant.

Meals are served in the air conditioned hotel restaurant, according to the well known system of smorgasbord for all meals.
